The Forum Waldenburg emerges as a center of competency for research and the imparting of graphic art and artistic craftwork in Eastern Germany as well as the development of analytic and disclosing practices regarding artistic estate.
The Forum relocated to the facilities of the historical royal stables, part of the architectural ensemble of the City of Waldenburg (Saxony), after a (re-)construction phase. An archive, a research institute and a museum along with seminar rooms and workshops shall be established there for extensive educational activity purposes. Exhibitions, book launches and literary evenings, academic conventions and cultural events, which will also inform on the construction progress in Waldenburg, will take place during the initial phase at the Blobel Haus in Dresden.
The Forum Waldenburg congregates the initiators' expertise in the development of artistic estate and publication of catalogues raisonnes, art collections and document-related repositories, with a network of artist, scientists, and project partners from culture, politics and economy.
The Forum Waldenburg aims to embed the (cultural) accomplishments of Eastern German and Eastern European societies in the lasting national and international memory, and to research specific artistic and cultural mindsets in order to open up and activate an identity shaping cultural and social capital for today's Eastern German society.
